beirut (Uttam Hindu News): Israeli warplanes bombed the south-eastern Lebanese villages of Khiyam, Jarmak and Kafr Qila on Saturday, killing a Hezbollah fighter and wounding three civilians.
The Lebanese Red Cross and the Muslim Scout Association evacuated the dead and injured to three government hospitals in southern Lebanon, the sources said on condition of anonymity.
According to the sources, Israeli warplanes also bombed the southern Lebanese town of Nabatieh, targeting the villages of Jibchit and Harouf for the first time.
Hezbollah said its fighters used Grad rockets to launch the first attack on Israeli “fortress” barracks in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, Xinhua news agency reported.
There is tension on the Lebanon-Israel border since October 8, 2023. The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets toward Israel in support of Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, in response to which Israel fired heavy artillery toward southeastern Lebanon.
According to Lebanese security sources, the clashes between Hezbollah and Israel have left 255 people dead on the Lebanese side, including 183 Hezbollah members and 39 civilians.
