11 killed in warehouse fire in China’s Hebei province


China Warehouse Fire: Chinese authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out on Monday at an abandoned refrigerated warehouse in the country’s industrial province of Hebei, killing 11 people. The local government gave this information on Tuesday.

The structure of the godown was being demolished, then the fire broke out

The government of Kang county in Hebei province said the fire broke out on Monday afternoon when the structure of a warehouse in a village in the northern province was being demolished. After a lot of effort, the fire department brought the fire under control at around 11 pm. Rescue workers took out 11 people from the scene, but all were killed.

Incidents of arson happened earlier in China

Earlier, in the month of November last year, there was a fire in a factory in Henan province of China. About 38 people died in this accident. The incident took place at the factory in Anyang city. Anyang is the hi-tech zone of the city. Firefighters had to work hard for several hours to control the fire. More than 200 relief workers and around 60 firefighters were engaged in efforts to extinguish the fire. According to the report, fire brigade teams had sent 63 vehicles to the spot. Earlier in March 2019, there was an explosion at a chemical factory in Yancheng, located 260 kilometers from Shanghai. 78 people were killed in the accident and many houses were destroyed. Whereas, in 2015, a massive explosion at a chemical warehouse in the northern port city of Tianjin killed more than 170 people, while 700 others were injured.
