Islamabad: At least 12 suspects, including the “mastermind” of the attack, have been arrested in connection with a suicide bomb attack that killed five Chinese nationals and their Pakistani driver last week in Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. According to ‘Express Tribune’ news, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has started investigation into the attack and has held the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan terrorist group responsible for it.

However, no organization has yet claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack. The attack took place when Chinese engineers were returning from Islamabad to their camp in Dasu.

According to a CTD report submitted on Monday, officials conducted raids in this regard and arrested more than a dozen terrorists and those who helped in the attack.

Sources said the authorities have also arrested the attack’s ‘mastermind’ Hazrat Bilal, who had brought the suicide bomber from Afghanistan. Bilas is also wanted in connection with previous attacks on Chinese civilians.

The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said some of the detained suspects had driven an explosive-laden car to the Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where a suicide bomber rammed it into another vehicle, killing the Chinese nationals. Went.
