32 percent jump in passenger movement at Mumbai International Airport in August – Dainik Savera Times


Mumbai: Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport handled 43.2 lakh passengers in August this year. This number is 32 percent more than in August last year. In August 2022, 32 lakh passengers traveled from here. This information was given in a release from Mumbai International Airport Limited on Monday. According to the release, the number of passengers arriving and departing from Mumbai International Airport, managed by Adani Group, is 108 percent higher in August this year as compared to August 2019.

Passenger traffic on international flights from this airport stood at 11 lakh in August, a 33 per cent increase compared to 8.4 lakh a year ago, the release said. This time in August, 20711 domestic and 6960 international flights were handled from this airport. Most of the international flights from here were operated on Dubai route. The Munich route recorded the highest increase of 150 per cent in passenger numbers in August, while Hanoi came in second with a growth of 138 per cent and Istanbul came in third with a growth of 110 per cent. Passenger numbers for Nairobi and Ho Chi Minh City recorded significant increases of 99 percent and 96 percent respectively.
