A historic agreement has been signed between India’s Intelligence Agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Saudi Arabia. After this agreement, RAW will get great help against terrorism. This is being termed as a significant development.

In a move towards expansion of strategic ties, the Saudi Arabian cabinet has approved cooperation between Saudi and Indian intelligence agencies to combat terror and terrorism financing. A historic agreement has been signed between India’s Intelligence Agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Saudi Arabia. After this agreement, RAW will get great help against terrorism. This is being termed as a significant development.

Saudi Arabia has emerged as one of India’s major counter-terrorism partners in the Arab world, apart from the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Syria, Egypt, Morocco and Iraq. Riyadh is helping India crack down on extremists. Rather, it has to be noted that Saudi Arabia is refusing to get involved in the Kashmir issue despite Pakistan’s pressure. After this agreement, Saudi Arabia will become India’s biggest partner in the Gulf countries in the fight against terrorism.

India-Saudi defense and security partnership continues to grow. Last year, several high-level bilateral visits and meetings took place, starting with the first official visit to India by Lt. Gen. Fahd bin Abdullah Mohammed Al-Mutair, Commander of the Royal Saudi Land Forces, in February. The fifth meeting of the Indian-Saudi Joint Committee on Defense Cooperation was held in New Delhi in July and Saudi Arabia is keen to buy defense items from India. Information about this entire agreement has been officially given by the Saudi Gazette. According to this gazette, the country’s cabinet, which was presided over by King Salman, has approved this agreement. This meeting took place at Al Salam Palace recently.
