Sanju Devi, 22-year-old wife of Pankaj Turi, suffering from diarrhea in Pathaldiha under Simradhab Panchayat of Birni block, died during treatment at the Community Health Center (CHC) on Sunday morning. Many people in the village are suffering from diarrhea. All are being treated by rural doctors. After Sanju’s death, the team of CHC Birni reached the village and started treating all the patients. Currently, the condition of all the patients is normal. On receiving the information of the incident, Birni chief Ramu Baitha reached the hospital and consoled the family of the deceased and after talking to the medical officer in charge, sent the health team to the village. The team visited the entire village and after taking information about the condition of the people suffering from diarrhea, started treatment. CHO Tarkeshwar Ahir said that the villagers have been requested to immediately reach the hospital or inform if they experience diarrhea. He said that on receiving information, the health department team will reach the village immediately. He said that Sanju died due to heat. The deceased’s brother-in-law Kishori Turi said that his sister-in-law’s health suddenly started deteriorating from Saturday evening. She recovered after getting treatment from a rural doctor. On Sunday morning, her health deteriorated again. She was taken to CHC Birni. She died as soon as the treatment started there. Sanju’s husband Pankaj Turi works as a labourer in Bangalore. Pankaj is still in Bangalore. The woman has a six-month-old daughter. When the body of the woman was brought home from the hospital, the wailings of the relatives spread mourning in the entire village. With the help of the villagers, the relatives performed the last rites.
