AIFF member entered the room of women football players, suspended for crossing limits

New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News)– The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Tuesday suspended executive committee member Deepak Sharma. He will remain suspended until further notice. Sharma is accused of allegedly assaulting two female players in Goa. In fact, two football players of Himachal Pradesh-based Khad FC, participating in the second division of the Indian Women’s Football (IWL) League, alleged that club owner Sharma had entered their room on the night of March 28 and assaulted them.

In their complaint letter to the AIFF, the two women alleged that they returned to their accommodation after a match in the second division of the Indian Women’s League and were boiling eggs after dinner was over. The girls alleged that Deepak Sharma was in an intoxicated state. He entered the room and assaulted her. Earlier, AIFF President Kalyan Choubey, Vice President NA Harris and Treasurer Kipa Ajay on Monday took note of the players’ complaints against Sharma, after which a meeting of AIFF member associations was called. After hearing Sharma’s side in the meeting, he was asked to leave the meeting.
