Amit Shah on three-day Gujarat tour, addresses dairy industry conference

Addressing the 49th Dairy Industry Convention organized by the Indian Dairy Association in Gandhinagar, Amit Shah said that the dairy industry plays an important role in empowering small farmers. Speaking at the 49th Dairy Industry Convention in Gandhinagar, Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said that the dairy sector is an important aspect of the Indian economy. The contribution of the dairy sector is more than Rs 10 lakh crore. 45 crore people are associated with it. Our milk processing capacity is around 126 million liters per day, which is the highest in the world. India’s population has increased 4 times from 1970 to 2022 and our milk production has increased 10 times due to our dairy sector.

Home Minister Amit Shah said that looking at the development of the dairy industry since India’s independence, our dairy sector has worked very well to link all aspects with the country’s development. The contribution of our cooperative dairy in this is huge.

On Sunday, the Home Minister will lay the foundation stone of the Junagadh District Bank Headquarters and inaugurate the APMC Kisan Bhawan at the Agricultural Camp located at APMC Daulatpara in Junagadh. Shah will later offer prayers at the Somnath temple and e-inaugurate various development works along with the launch of the Somnath Trust’s mobile app. Shah’s two-day visit to Gujarat will conclude after attending the convocation ceremony of Central University of Gujarat.
