Babar Azam trolled on social media after resigning from captaincy
New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): Babar Azam recently resigned from the captaincy of Pakistan’s ODI and T20 team, after which many people took a dig at him on social media. Babar Azam was struggling with poor batting in recent times.
Babar posted on the social media platform ‘X’ and informed that he has decided to resign from the captaincy of ODI and T20 and had informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the team management in September itself.
After this many fans started trolling him. Someone wrote, “Babar Azam steps down from ODI and T20 captaincy (sad day for other teams)”.
Another user wrote, “Babar Azam’s resignation: 2, Babar Azam’s trophies in 6 tournaments: 0″.
Someone else said, “Babar Azam left the captaincy of Pakistan again. He is looking at his personal progress, not that of the team.”
It is noteworthy that this is the second time in the last one year that Babar has left the captaincy of Pakistan national men’s team. Recently, after Pakistan’s poor performance in the ODI World Cup held in India in October-November, he resigned from the captaincy of all formats.
Earlier too, Babar had said that due to captaincy, there is a lot of pressure on him and now he wants to concentrate on his batting.
Babar said in his post, “My dear fans, I am sharing an important thing with you today. I have decided to resign from the captaincy of Pakistan men’s cricket team. Last month I informed the PCB and team management about this.”
“It has been a matter of pride for me to captain this team, but now the time has come for me to step down from this responsibility and focus on my game. Captaincy has been a good experience for me, but it has increased the workload a lot. Now I want to enjoy my batting and spend time with my family, which makes me happy.”
Azam further said that now he would like to focus on his game further and will be keen to contribute as a player.
