Today a horrific accident took place in Bangladesh when a speeding bus fell into a valley. At least 16 people died in this accident, while more than 30 people were injured. Police said the Dhaka-bound bus driven by Imad Paribhan went out of control on an expressway in Madaripur at around 7.30 am and fell into a valley. It is being told that there were more than 40 passengers in the bus.

Death toll likely to rise

Giving information about the accident, the police said that the death toll in the incident may increase as the condition of many injured is said to be critical. Madaripur Superintendent of Police Mohammad Masood Alam told that the injured have been admitted to different hospitals. It is believed that the accident happened due to the negligent driving of the driver.

There is also a possibility of the tire puncture of the bus.

Explaining the accident, Faridpur Police Service Assistant Director Shiplu Ahmed said that it is believed that the tire of the speeding bus burst and due to this the driver lost control and the bus fell into the valley. It is also being claimed that a large number of people have lost their lives due to hitting the ground under the bus. Three teams of fire brigade have reached the spot with vehicles for rescue work.
