Kolkata, 08 February (Hindu). The 2019 champions, Bengal Warriors, are all set to make one last push for a playoff spot. The Warriors, who are currently placed ninth, will take on Gujarat Giants at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on Friday.
Before the start of their home leg, Bengal Warriors captain Maninder Singh said during a press conference, “We are very happy to be back home in Kolkata after 4 years. Our fans are our lucky charm, and since I joined the team, we have not lost here. We always enjoy the support of the home crowd, and we have found that the encouragement from the fans helps to raise our level. So, this year too, we want everyone to support us, so that we can play four great games.”
A day before the start of the Kolkata leg of PKL Season 10, Bengal Warriors head coach K Bhaskaran said, “It is great to be back home with the Bengal Warriors team. Our team has seen ups and downs this season, but we have the experience and skill in the players for the final race to qualify for the playoffs. The players are very excited to play here and we hope that our fans will come in large numbers and support us. Our raiders and captain Maninder are in good form, and in defence, Shubham Shinde and his team are working hard to give ourselves the best chance of reaching the playoffs.”
Apoorva Gupta, Senior Vice President and Head of Contact Sports, Capri Sports, said, “The Bengal Warriors have been working hard in training every day, and we are hopeful that we will put on a great performance for our home fans.
