Indian tennis star Rohan Bopanna and his Australian partner Matthew Ebden reached the semi-finals of the ATP Finals men’s doubles event by defeating Wesley Koolhof and Neil Skupski in straight sets on Friday. The Bopanna-Ebden pair registered a 6-4, 7-6 win over Koolhof (Netherlands) and Skupski (Britain) in the Red Group qualification decider that lasted 84 minutes.

The third seeded pair of players from India and Australia displayed a strong game and scored almost 88 percent points (35 out of 40) on their serve. The pair of Bopanna and Ebden, who registered their 40th win at the tour level in the current season, along with defending champions Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury from the Red Group, qualified for the knockouts. Earlier this week, at the age of 43, Bopanna became the oldest player to win a match in this tournament.

The pair of Bopanna and Ebden have a chance to reach the top of the ATP doubles rankings at the end of the year. However, for this the pair will have to reach the finals.
