Rio de Janeiro. All 14 people on board were killed when a small passenger plane crashed in Brazil’s Amazon rain forest on Saturday. Amazonas Province Governor Wilson Lima gave this information. Lima wrote on the social media site ‘X’, “I am deeply saddened by the death of 12 passengers and two crew members in the plane crash in Barcelona.” It took off from Manaus, the capital of Amazonas state, but crashed while attempting to land in heavy rain.

According to the media, the passengers on board the plane were Brazilian tourists. Video footage shared by Globo television network shows the wreckage of the plane lying in the mud with its front part covered in green leaves, with 20-25 people standing near it carrying umbrellas. The Brazilian Air Force said in a statement that it had sent a team from Manaus to collect information and evidence related to the crash that could be helpful in the investigation.
