China-Pak ready to help Afghanistan as soon as the situation stabilizes: Arif Alvi

Pakistan President Arif Alvi recently congratulated Xi Jinping on his re-election as Chinese President in an exclusive interview to China Media Group. He said that this showed Xi Jinping’s great achievements in governing the country and the Chinese people’s high recognition of the Chinese Communist Party. Under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, China has established a good image in the world and played an important leading role in the future development of mankind. The national governance of President Xi Jinping has not only brought changes in China, but has also made a positive impact on the world. Alvi said that the concept of community with a shared future for mankind, proposed by Xi Jinping, is very important all over the world. It is different from the cooperation of other countries based on their own interests, it is a concept based on peace. This concept of China is a great contribution to the peace work of mankind. Xi Jinping proposed the construction of the “Belt and Road” and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, which are important initiatives under the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Alvi said that in 2015, when the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project was fully promoted, the first construction focused on the energy sector. In addition, the two sides also reached broad consensus in the field of industrial cooperation, including the establishment of special economic zones. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is not only a win-win outcome for China and Pakistan, but several Central Asian countries, including Afghanistan, are also looking forward to sea travel through the Gwadar Port. Currently, we are trying to enhance the peaceful reconstruction process in Afghanistan, in which China also plays a big role. When peace and stability are restored in Afghanistan, China and Pakistan will jointly help it to get out of trouble and rebuild its motherland. Also the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will play a more important role. The second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will focus on social sectors such as poverty alleviation. With the continuous growth of friendship between the two countries, the cooperation between the two sides will also proceed very smoothly.

Alvi said that Pakistan is a very reliable partner of China, and the friendship between the two countries is as strong as iron. Although the government has changed many times, the friendship between China and Pakistan has always been strong. I think the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will continue to play an important role in maintaining regional peace. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the “Belt and Road” initiative, the two countries should join hands to promote the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor into a “fast lane”.
