This is not the first time that China has tried to change the course of the Indian border. China has tried to stake claim at many places. The Ministry of Civil Affairs of China on Monday made a new attempt to claim some land in Arunachal Pradesh by changing the place of establishment of administrative department.

China released the so-called ‘certified’ geographical navigation list of Arunachal Pradesh. Known by Beijing as Zhangnan, the Chinese government’s official newspaper Global Times said. The 30 places named by China include 12 mountains, 4 rivers, 1 pond, 1 mountain section, 11 residential areas and a piece of land. Apart from the list of boats, the Chinese ministry has also shared detailed latitude and longitude and high resolution maps of the area.

In 2017, China would have released the first list of ‘certified’ boats for SAHA places in Arunachal Pradesh. They would have come out with another list in 2021 consisting of 15 places. Another list featuring 11 additional places made famous in 2023 would have been Famous Kelly.

Meanwhile, India has repeatedly thwarted China’s attempts to claim territory in Arunachal Pradesh. Arunachal is an inseparable part of India and the change in the location of Arunachal from China does not actually change it and has no consequences, India plays a vital role in this.
