Chinese and US health officials agreed to strengthen institutional dialogue – Dainik Savera Times
The health departments of China and the US recently held talks in Washington. Both sides agreed to strengthen institutional dialogue and multi-channel communication, closer cooperation between technical agencies, and coordination of global health matters on multilateral platforms. Tsao Xiuthao, deputy director of China’s National Health Commission, said during the meeting that strengthening the health partnership between China and the United States is conducive to safeguarding the health of the people of the two countries and global health and well-being.
China is willing to strengthen policy communication and position coordination with the US and expand exchanges and cooperation in areas such as cancer prevention and treatment, chronic diseases, population aging and medical research. Andrea Palm, Deputy Secretary of the US Department of Health and Human Services, said cooperation between the world’s largest and second largest economies is critical to maintaining global health security.
It is hoped that the two countries will deepen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of cancer prevention and treatment, chronic diseases, population aging, climate change and health, nutrition and antimicrobial resistance. It is noteworthy that this is the first visit of a ministerial-level delegation of the Chinese Health Department to America since 2017.
