Gaza. The Hamas-run health ministry said the number of Palestinians killed in ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has risen to 27,947. The ministry said in a press statement on Friday that 67,459 Palestinians have been injured in the coastal areas since the Israel-Hamas conflict began in October last year, a news agency reported.
The ministry said Israeli forces killed 107 Palestinians and wounded 142 others in the past 24 hours. The ministry said some of the dead were under debris amid heavy bombardment and a shortage of civil defense and ambulance staff. Palestinian security sources and witnesses said Israeli aircraft targeted and bombed several homes in Gaza City neighborhoods including al-Rimal, al-Sabra, al-Zaytoun, Tal al-Hawa and Sheikh Ajlin.
Sources told Shanhua that ambulances were unable to reach targeted locations due to Israeli bombardment. Meanwhile, medical sources said at least eight Palestinians were killed in an attack that targeted two homes in Gaza’s southernmost city, Rafah.
In Khan Yunis, the largest city in southern Gaza, several young people died as a result of Israeli bombardment, according to paramedics. In addition, a number of Palestinians were killed and some others were injured as a result of the bombing by Israeli aircraft of a house in the city of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
