Delhi Panzers registered a resounding win against Rajasthan Patriots in the sixth match of the Premier Handball League

Jaipur. Delhi Panzers registered their first win in the Premier Handball League (PHL) despite a slow start to the match. He opened his account in the first season of the league with a big 34-18 win against Rajasthan Patriots.

In the sixth match of the Premier Handball League, Rajasthan Patriots faced Delhi Panzers. Both the Patriots and the Panzers got off to a slow start to the match. Despite creating several chances, players from both the teams struggled to find the finishing touch. Rajasthan Patriots captain and goalkeeper Atul Kumar was in good form. He made several good saves to prevent Delhi from taking the lead.

At half time of the first half, the score was 5–4 in favor of the Panzers. However, soon Panzers captain and talisman Deepak Ahlawat found his finishing touch and helped Delhi slowly pull away from the Patriots. Jasmeet Singh and Bhupendra Singh of Panzers were supporting their captain brilliantly. All three together helped Delhi Panzers to take the lead. The first half went in favor of the Delhi team from 14-9.

In the second half, the Rajasthan Patriots team came back determined to reduce Delhi Panzers’ lead from the first half. Patriots’ star players Hardev Singh, Dmitry Kireev and Arjun Lakra were slowly getting into their attacking mood. The Patriots were passing the ball with accuracy. Because of this Delhi was finding it difficult to make a decisive edge. The Panzers’ attack was doing well despite the Patriots’ comeback. He was successful in scoring continuously. In the 45th minute of the match, the score was 24–15 in favor of the Panzers. He had taken a good lead in the last 15 minutes.

Panzer’s Nitin Kumar Sharma was also brilliantly doing justice to his role as a penalty save specialist. He saved three crucial penalties in the second half of the match and denied Rajasthan a way back. Bhupendra Ghanghas of Panzers also did well. Ahlawat, Jasmeet and he presented a good combination in attack to further strengthen their team’s lead. Panzer’s starting goalkeeper Elmuratov Sardor proved to be vital for his team in this match as he made some exceptional saves throughout the match, ensuring that the Patriots were not able to mount a comeback. Thus the match ended 34-18 in favor of Delhi Panzers. In this way the Panzers won the first season of the Premier Handball League by the biggest score difference ever.

For Delhi Panzers, Bhupendra Ghanghas was the top scorer for his team against Patriots with 11 goals while Dmitri Kireev of Patriots emerged as the top scorer for his team with 5 goals. Delhi Panzers goalkeeper Elmuratov Sardor was awarded the player of the match award.
