Eighth National Congress of Chinese Disabled Persons Federation held – Dainik Savera Times


The Eighth National Congress of the Chinese Disabled Persons Federation opened in Beijing on September 18. Leaders including Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the inauguration ceremony. Over 600 delegates from across the country participated in the event on behalf of 8 crore 50 lakh persons with disabilities.

Chinese Vice Premier Ting Xiuxiang, delivering a speech on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, congratulated the organization of the conference and expressed condolences to the people with severe disabilities and their families. Ting Xiuxiang said that China has made many achievements in disability work in the past ten years. Persons with severe disabilities have achieved their dreams through great hard work and a spirit of continuous self-improvement.

He further said that the 20th National Congress of the CPC put forward clear demands to improve the social guarantee system and care service system for persons with disabilities and enhance the development of disability work. Departments at various levels should take their responsibilities seriously, so that the Chinese style of modernization can create a more happy life for disabled people.
