England team reached Multan for test series against Pakistan – Dainik Savera Times
New Delhi: England’s men’s Test team has reached Multan before the three-match series against Pakistan. England will play the first two Tests in Multan, starting on October 7 and 15 respectively, followed by a match in Rawalpindi from October 24.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared a video of the traditional welcome given to the Ben Stokes-led team on their arrival in the country and on the way to check-in at the hotel. PCB wrote on its X account, ‘England’s Test team was given a traditional welcome upon reaching Multan.
England had won 3-0 over Pakistan on their last tour to the country in December 2022. The upcoming Tests in Multan and Rawalpindi are part of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle. England are fourth in the WTC with 42.19 point percentage, while Pakistan are eighth with 19.05 point percentage.
England have won home Test series against West Indies and Sri Lanka, while Pakistan enter the three-match series after a 2-0 series loss to Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. Pakistan last won a home Test match in February 2021, when it defeated South Africa by 95 runs in Rawalpindi. Due to a decline in the team’s performance in all three formats of the game, as well as the recent resignation of Babar Azam as white-ball captain, Pakistan has come under criticism from various people in the cricket world for its performance and off-field changes in the PCB. The hunt is on.
