Mumbai The first poster of Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed starrer family drama Barzakh was unveiled at the Series Mania festival in France, where the show is set to have its global premiere.

Ahead of its world premiere at the Series Mania festival, the makers of Zindagi original show ‘Barzakh’ unveiled the poster of the show starring actors Fawad and Sanam in the French city of Lille.

‘Barzakh’ is directed by critically acclaimed director Asim Abbasi, who also directed Zindagi’s first original Churrells and the feature film Cake. Gracing the event were writer-director Asim Abbasi, actor Sanam Saeed and producer Shailja Kejriwal.

‘Barzakh’ has the unique distinction of being the only series selected from South Asia. The series will be shown in the International Panorama line-up section of the showcase, where it is nominated in categories such as Best Series, Director, Actress, Actor, Student Jury and Audience Award.

‘Barzakh’ is a family drama. The series stars Fawad Khan as a single parent who is charming but at the same time wracked with guilt for something he has lost.

Fawad said: Coinciding with our Series Mania premiere, our poster, which we now present to the world, offers an early glimpse of what to expect from the series obscurity that marks the post-modern world of human beings. Reflects the complexities in navigating relationships.

Sanam Saeed said: It was really a matter of luck to participate in the Series Mania festival. Barzakh is a story I connected with the moment I heard it and the story penned by Asim Abbasi will renew our faith in love and life. It not only inspired me to take up a challenging role but also made me look at life in a different light. It is very different from what we have seen on screen and all the actors have played very different and varied roles. I am very proud of this series and am honored to have its world premiere at the Series Mania festival.

Asim has shot this series in Karachi and the beautiful Hunza Valley of Pakistan.

Talking about Barzakh and the poster, Asim said: “Both love and memory are the central thematic components of Barzakh. We wanted a scene that reflected love in its eternal manifestation.
