Food supply disrupted in Gaza due to lack of Israel’s approval: UNRWA

Gaza (Uttam Hindu News): The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) has said that vital food supplies to the Gaza Strip are blocked due to Israel’s lack of access. According to the report of news agency Xinhua, UNRWA said in a press statement on Monday that due to lack of Israeli approval, the supply of essential commodities including flour from the Israeli port of Ashdod to the Gaza Strip is being disrupted.

The Kerem Shalom crossing in southern Gaza has been closed since February 7 due to Israeli protesters, the statement said. Meanwhile, the Hamas government media office reported that some Palestinian families in the Strip were receiving only half their meals within 48 hours. The office blamed Israel for the blockade of the Strip and preventing aid from reaching its destination, called for an end to Israeli attacks on civilians and an end to the war.
