Washington, 30 November (Hindustan Reporter). Henry Kissinger, who served in important positions like America’s Secretary of State and National Security Advisor, died on Wednesday at the age of 100 at his Connecticut residence. Kissinger, born in Germany, came to America with his family before the Nazi campaign against Jews. He later became an American citizen in 1943 and played a major role in American activities in many important global events. Henry played an active role in the peace agreement with Vietnam.

However, he was also involved in many big controversies in which during the India-Pakistan war of 1971, he was accused of supporting Pakistan in the genocide of the people of Bangladesh. He supported the George Bush government in the US attack on Iraq. Kissinger, an advocate of US relations with China, is credited with initiating US diplomatic dialogue with China.

Kissinger was offered the Nobel Peace Prize in 1973, which he declined. This is considered to be the most controversial development for Nobel Prize selection.
