Four killed in stabbing, shooting incident in Japan; suspect arrested

Tokyo (Best Hindu News): Four people were killed in a stabbing, shooting incident in Japan’s Nagano Prefecture. Police arrested a man armed with a rifle on Friday. This information was given by the local media. According to the local police, the suspect is the son of the assembly speaker. Police took him into custody this morning on suspicion of murder.

Police said they received an emergency call on Thursday evening local time that a man had stabbed a woman in the city of Nakano. The police officers who reached the spot on receiving information about the incident were also shot by the suspect. All the three police officers later succumbed to their injuries.

According to local media, after fleeing the scene, the suspect hid in the residence of the local assembly speaker, where gunshots were heard in the night. Police confirmed the death of an elderly woman this morning. His condition was critical as he had sustained serious injuries.
