New Delhi: After the trailer of singer and actor Guru Randhawa’s much talked about film Shahkot was released on Sunday, strong protests were seen at many places. Guru Randhawa had a special conversation with IANS regarding this. Actor and singer Guru Randhawa told IANS that if we support cinema, cinema will grow. I have done this Punjabi film with a big heart and Shahkot is my first Punjabi film. I am appealing to all the people to support us by watching the film so that we can make even better films in the future.
Some people say that the film takes Pakistan’s side. On this Guru Randhawa said that some people form opinions without seeing the whole thing. He said, I don’t know what he saw in the trailer that was inciting protest. But there is nothing worth protesting about in the film. This is a very love-filled film. Such films have been made before and will continue to be made in future also. Those who are protesting, their confusion will be dispelled after watching the film.
Let us tell you that Guru Randhawa’s film Shahkot will be released in theaters on October 4. The character of the film goes from Shahkot to Pakistan, where he falls in love with a girl living in Pakistan. There is a lot of controversy regarding the movie taking the side of neighboring country Pakistan. Recently, the Punjab unit of Shiv Sena had protested against this film. During this, the protesters burnt posters of the film and raised slogans against Pakistan. The film also stars Esha Talwar, Raj Babbar, Gurshabd Hardeep Gill, Seema Kaushal, Neha Dayal and Manpreet Singh along with Guru Randhawa. Produced by Anirudh Mohta, the film will release in theaters on October 4.
