Chinese President on TuesdayXi sent a reply letter to Geoffrey Green, chairman of the China-US Aviation Heritage Fund, and Flying Tigers veterans Harry Moyer and Mel McMullan. He said that the healthy and stable development of China-US relations in the new era requires the participation and support of Flying Tigers members in the new era. It is hoped that the spirit of Flying Tigers will spread from generation to generation among the people of China and America.
Xi Jinping said, I am very happy to learn from your letter that the former members of the China-US Aviation Heritage Fund and the Flying Tigers have long been spreading the story of the Flying Tigers in the two countries, and more and more American youth and children have become interested in the Flying Tigers friendship. Schools and youth and children’s leaders are joining the scheme and so far around 500 former Flying Tigs members and several hundred of their family members have traveled to China.
Xi Jinping stressed that the Chinese and American peoples had forged a deep friendship in the struggle against Japanese fascism. Forward-looking China and America have a more important responsibility for world peace, stability and development. Both countries should share the embodiment of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, cooperation and win-win. The public hopes for cordial China-US relations.
Let us tell you that the China-US Aviation Heritage Fund was established in the year 1998, the purpose of which is to enhance the study and memory of historical aviation events of both the countries.
