IBA World Boxing Championships: Jasmine and Shashi Chopra showed punch power on the second day, Shruti was out after defeat

IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships: Commonwealth Games medalist Jasmine Lamboria beats Tanzania’s Nyambega Beatrice by RSC decision Women’s World Boxing Championship defeated in their first match. Shashi Chopra (63kg) defeated Kenya’s Mwangi Teresia 5-0. India’s Shruti Yadav (70 kg), however, lost her match, being defeated 5-0 by China’s Zhou Pan.

Jasmine, who won the bronze medal in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022, won in 90 seconds in the 60 kg category. His punches were so strong that the Tanzanian boxer could not recover. On the first day, Nikhat Zareen and Preeti also won their matches on RSC decision after the referee stopped the one-sided match. Jasmine will now face Tajikistan’s Samadova Mijgona. At the same time, Shashi will compete with Japan’s Kito Mei, who is the silver medalist of the 2022 Asian Championships.

Let us inform that around 300 women boxers from 65 countries are participating in this championship. Countries like America, England, Ireland, Ukraine have boycotted the championship due to allowing Russia and Belarus to play.
