ICC Test Rankings: Bumrah again becomes number-1 Test bowler, beats Ashwin; Kohli’s return to top-10

Dubai (Uttam Hindu News): Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who took six wickets in the Kanpur Test, has become the number one bowler in the Test rankings. He overtook compatriot and India-Bangladesh series Player of the Series R Ashwin, who is now at second position with 869 rating points, one rating point less than Bumrah. Bumrah has 870 rating points.

This is the second time that Bumrah has become number one in the Test rankings. Earlier in February this year, he had also become the number one bowler and he was the first Indian fast bowler to do so.

Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who became the Player of the Match with two half-centuries in the Kanpur Test, has now moved to third place in the Test rankings for batsmen, while Virat Kohli returned to the top 10 and occupied the sixth position. Kohli had scored 47 and 29 not out in the low-scoring Kanpur Test.

Kamindu Mendis, who scored unbeaten 182 runs in the second Test played against New Zealand in Galle, is now at 11th place in the batsmen’s rankings, while Bangladesh’s Mehdi Hasan Miraz is now included in the top five all-rounders of Test cricket.
