The country’s top wrestlers, including Vinesh and Olympic medalists Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik, have been on a sit-in at Jantar Mantar since April 23. Vinesh Phogat said on Friday that if Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh attends the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building on May 28, it would send a clear message about the current situation in the country. The country’s top wrestlers, including Vinesh and Olympic medalists Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik, have been on a sit-in at Jantar Mantar since April 23. They have accused Brij Bhushan of sexually assaulting seven women players, including a minor, and are demanding the arrest of the WFI president.

For their demand, the protesting wrestlers have decided to organize Mahila Mahapanchayat in front of the new Parliament House on Sunday. On this day Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament House. Vinesh was asked what message would go if the WFI chief was present during the inauguration, she said, “If Brij Bhushan is present in the new Parliament on May 28, the entire country will automatically get the message.” “Whoever is trying to save Brijbhushan is against us. I don’t know what is going on inside the government but someone is trying to save her and it is not right. She is harming the women of the country.
