Islamabad : The stars of Imran Khan, chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, are in decline these days. On one hand, the army and the government are trying their best to send him to jail, on the other hand, his close friends have also started distancing themselves from him. Troubled Imran Khan said on Wednesday that he was ready to hold talks with ‘anybody in power’. This statement of Imran has come to the fore when Fawad Chaudhary, one of his closest leaders, also distanced himself from PTI on Wednesday. The list of leaders who left the party like Chaudhary is long.

According to the news of Geo News, while addressing his supporters, Imran said, ‘I am forming a committee. It will hold talks with ‘anybody in power’ on two things. First, if according to ‘him’ it is beneficial for the country, I will quit politics. Second, if elections are held in October, how much will it benefit the country. Convince us on these two things. If they feel and if they succeed in convincing the committee that my leaving politics will benefit the country, then I will step back and leave politics.

So far 30 leaders have left PTI

In violent protests across the country following Imran’s arrest, PTI workers attacked key military installations. The mob attacked the army headquarters in Rawalpindi and set the ‘Jinnah House’ in Lahore on fire. Since then, one leader after another has been resigning from PTI criticizing the violence. So far about 30 leaders have left Imran’s party and this number may increase in the coming times. Imran claims that PTI leaders are being forced to leave the party at ‘gunpoint’.

Close friends distanced themselves from Imran

The biggest blow to PTI came when Fawad Chaudhary, senior vice-president of the party and a minister in the Imran government, also announced his resignation on Wednesday. A day before this, Shirin Mazari also resigned from Imran’s party, criticizing the violence on 9 May. Thousands of PTI workers have been arrested and sent to jail and this action is still going on. Imran’s trusted people like Shah Mehmood Qureshi are in jail.
