Imran Khan’s party may return to power in Pakistan, gains in trends


Islamabad (Uttam Hindu News)After the end of voting for National Assembly and provincial elections in Pakistan, electoral trends have started emerging. Official results may be declared on February 9. There are a total of 336 seats in the National Assembly. Of these, elections are being held today on 265 seats, while the remaining seats are reserved. Imran Khan’s party has created a stir in the initial trends in Pakistan. So far, trends for 138 seats out of 265 have been revealed. Independents supporting Imran’s party are ahead in 138 seats.

Nawaz Sharif’s party PML-N is ahead on 35 and Pakistan People’s Party candidates on 17. Earlier, a terrorist attack took place in Pakistan during voting for the general elections from Thursday morning, in which at least five policemen were killed and six others were injured. At least four police officers were killed and six others injured in a bomb attack on a police vehicle at Graha Aslam polling station in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, The Express Tribune reported.
