India poised to become leader in sustainable technologies: Honeywell – Dainik Savera Times

Chicago: A senior official of American technology company Honeywell said that the Indian economy is growing very fast and the country is poised to become a leader in sustainable technologies. “There are some areas in India now where the levels of renewable energy are really very high and the levels of fossil fuels are very low,” said Gavin Towler, Honeywell’s corporate chief scientist (sustainable technologies). I think India is poised to become a leader in sustainable technologies.”

At the 26th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 26) in November 2021, India announced its goal of achieving net zero by 2070. Towler said on the sidelines of an event that India’s economy is still relatively small and growing very fast. A senior company official said Honeywell is currently in discussions with several manufacturers in India to supply this technology for electrolysis of green hydrogen.

“The majority of our scientists and engineers are actually in India,” Towler said. I can say that almost every technology developed by Honeywell is being worked on by the Indian team, except some defense and space technologies.
