Speaking at an event to mark the completion of nine years of the Modi government, he said India has become a hub of startups which have created new age services like Ola ride sharing, Oyo Rooms and Paytm. He said that today no one can live without these services, whereas they did not exist before nine years of Modi government.

India will become a beacon of hope for the world on the strength of its youth running startups. Ritesh Agarwal, founder and group CEO of hospitality and travel technology company Oyo, said this on Saturday. Speaking at an event to mark the completion of nine years of the Modi government, he said India has become a hub of startups which have created new age services like Ola ride sharing, Oyo Rooms and Paytm. He said that today no one can live without these services, whereas they did not exist before nine years of Modi government.

In my opinion, India will be a beacon of hope for the world and India will definitely be driven by young startups, Aggarwal said. Oyo also started in 2014 and the company has seen an environment where India has only grown, he added. He said that in these nine years, India’s startup revolution has created a market capitalization of about US$ 300 billion. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Executive Chairperson, Biocon, through a video message at the event, said that they have taken several transformative initiatives in the last nine years, impacting all sections of the society.
