Hindu Temple In Abu Dhabi : More than 100 Indian school students in the UAE are busy painting small stones that will be presented as souvenirs to guests attending the inauguration ceremony of the first Hindu temple in the capital Abu Dhabi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) Hindu Temple, the first traditional Hindu temple in the UAE, in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. The school children have been providing “Stone Seva” at the temple every Sunday for three months and are now putting the finishing touches to these gifts called “Miniature Treasures”.
Collected remaining stones at the temple site
For Tithi Patel (12), stone service is a weekend activity she enjoys with her friend. Patel told PTI, “We collected the remaining stones and small stones at the temple site. Then we washed them, applied a coat of primer, polished them and then painted them. Each stone has an inspirational line on one side and a painting of any part of the temple on the other side.” Reva Kariya (8), who was busy placing the stones in a ‘gift box’ this Sunday, said that she called the gift a ‘miniature treasure’. Name given because children are making them with their little hands. “These stones will remind guests of their first visit to this grand temple,” he said. I have come here with my parents and they have also served in the temple.
Painting Pledge Reflection
Arnav Thakkar (11) said that the paintings being made on the stones are a reflection of the promise and represent peace, love and harmony. BAPS Hindu Temple, located near Al Rahba on Dubai-Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zayed Highway, has been built on about 27 acres of land and the construction work of this temple is going on since 2019. The land for this temple has been donated by the United Arab Emirates government. There are three other Hindu temples in the UAE which are located in Dubai. Spread over a large area with stone architecture, the BAPS temple will be the largest temple in the Gulf region.
Two day trip to UAE
Prime Minister Modi will undertake a two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates from Tuesday and during this he will inaugurate the huge temple on February 14. According to temple authorities, 40,000 cubic feet of marble has been used in the construction of the interior. Let us tell you that after the grand construction of Ayodhya Ram temple, many Indians are also waiting for the construction of this temple.
