Indian-origin software engineer appointed head of NASA’s “Moon to Mars” program

Indian-American software and robotics engineer Amit Kshatriya has been named the first chair of NASA’s new ‘Moon to Mars’ programme. The agency announced on Thursday that Kshatriya would begin work as the first chief of the NASA-formed office, effective immediately.

From 2014 to 2017, he held the position of Space Center Flight Director. Kshatriya, the child of a first-generation immigrant to the US from India, holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematical science from the California Institute of Technology and an MA in mathematics from the University of Texas.
