Indian poet Gautam Vegada praised China’s high-speed rail development – Dainik Savera Times
As China celebrates the 75th anniversary of the founding of New China on October 1, the country is also kicking off its week-long “National Day Golden Week,” a holiday travel period that sees millions of citizens travel. This year, China Railway started its National Day holiday transportation on September 29, and is expected to serve 175 million passengers by the time it ends on October 8.
China’s railway network has expanded significantly in recent years. By September 14, its total length had exceeded 1 lakh 60 thousand kilometers, including 46 thousand kilometers of high-speed rail – it is currently the largest high-speed rail network in the world, surpassing similar networks in other countries combined. More than the length.
During the “First International Youth Poetry Conference – BRICS Special Session” held in Hangzhou and Beijing in July, Indian poet Gautam Vegada had the opportunity to experience China’s high-speed trains first-hand. Traveling from Hangzhou to Beijing – covering a distance of more than 1,200 kilometers at speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour – Vegada was impressed by the efficiency and speed of the system. He completed this journey in just 4 hours.
“China’s high-speed rail is clean, comfortable and cool even in summer. It makes me look forward to future travels,” commented Gautam Vegada while praising the technology. He also said China’s rapid progress in high-speed rail could serve as a valuable example for India, which is still in the early stages of developing its own high-speed rail system. Vegada stressed the possibility of greater cooperation between China and India.
China’s high-speed rail network has gone from zero to the largest in the world within 75 years, symbolizing the country’s modernization. In the year 1949, the country had only 21 thousand kilometers of conventional railways. Today, its expanded high-speed rail network allows millions of people to take advantage of faster, more convenient travel. The system has also changed daily life, making it possible to travel to any corner of the country in just half an hour or a few hours, symbolizing China’s progress.
