Sahdev Yadav hit back at President PT Usha for his claim that IOA Executive Committee members did not agree to the proposal to honor the Paris Olympics medal winners, saying his claim is absolutely false.

Indian Olympic Association Treasurer Sahdev Yadav has hit back at President PT Usha for his claim that IOA Executive Committee members did not agree to the proposal to honor Paris Olympics medal winners, saying his claim is absolutely false. Usha on Monday had said it was extremely worrying that the executive committee members failed to honor Olympic medal winners and accused the finance committee of withholding funds meant for the preparation of Indian players for the Paris Games.

Refuting Usha’s claims, Sahdev said that, there has been no discussion with the executive committee members nor is there any official proposal in writing to organize a felicitation ceremony for the medal winners of Paris Olympics 2024. Sahdev, also president of the Indian Weightlifting Federation, accused Usha of spreading lies and fabrications instead of taking responsibility as per the IOA constitution.

Sahdev further said that, we fail to understand why the IOA President is spreading lies across the country. To humiliate the members of the Executive Committee when there is neither any evidence nor any real basis for this. He said that her repeated attempts and proposals are nothing but white lies which the Speaker keeps on fabricating every time in front of the media, shedding crocodile tears.

India won a total of 6 medals at the Paris Olympic Games, including two bronze medals for young shooter Manu Bhaker, but Usha said that the executive committee does not want to celebrate her success and she is extremely saddened by this. Usha had also revealed that the proposal of a preparation grant of Rs 2 lakh for each Olympic-bound athlete and Rs 1 lakh for each coach was blocked by the finance committee, especially Sahdev.
