Tehran, 19 September (HS). Iran has released five American citizens after eight years. In return, America has returned the six billion dollars seized from Iran. Now five Iranian prisoners will be released from American jails in exchange of these American prisoners.
Actually, five American citizens were imprisoned in Iran since 2015. To release them, Iranian officials had said that the American prisoners would be released only after Iran receives six billion dollars seized from America. This was said to be one of the main conditions for the prisoners’ release. Five prisoners left Tehran and reached Qatar as part of a prisoner exchange with Iran. After their arrival in Qatar, US President Joe Biden said in a statement that five innocent Americans imprisoned in Iran are finally returning home. The US Ambassador to Qatar also met these American prisoners.
The effort that has been going on for the last one year for the release of American citizens has finally succeeded after returning six billion dollars and everyone has got freedom. Now five Iranian prisoners will be released from American jails in exchange of these American prisoners.
