Jawan got success as a result of mutual trust between Shah Rukh Khan and me: Atlee Kumar – Dainik Savera Times
New Delhi: Filmmaker Atlee believes that if you want to get great acting from an artist, then first of all you have to be a fan of that artist. Atlee praised actor Shah Rukh Khan for trusting his vision of Jawan, saying that the film was successful because there was a strong sense of mutual trust between the two while working. Jawan is getting a lot of love from the audience and it is setting new standards of success at the box office. The film is in line to be included in the list of highest-grossing films of all time in the history of Hindi cinema. Jawan, which released on September 7, has so far earned more than Rs 800 crore at the box office.
Atlee is known for making back-to-back hits with actor Vijay in South India. When asked how he managed to direct Shah Rukh without being overwhelmed and influenced by his personality, Atlee said that he remained true to his creative vision and had no problems making the film. Atlee (36) said, “I am a fan of cinema and I am a fan of Shahrukh sir, Vijay sir. Whoever I have worked with, I first become their fan because if you want to get great acting from them, you have to become their fan first. Even with their favorite actors, a fan can always be blunt about a film and say – no, this is not right.”
Director Atlee said, “As a fan, you get to know which films are doing well and which ones are not… Also, if the actor is interested in a director’s work or a cameraman’s work and If someone is an admirer of an editor’s work, he also comes forward and says, ‘Boss, I think you are not on the right path.” The filmmaker said his relationship with Shah Rukh is based on a feeling of mutual trust and During the shooting of Jawan, the veteran actor gave him full protection and support along with advice.
Atlee said, “I did not direct Shahrukh during the shooting of the film. His understanding of cinema is excellent and he knows a lot. I just told them what is right and what is not right as per my point of view. And he trusted me.” He said, ”During the shooting he used to say, Yes sir. This is not right according to you. Let’s try one more time. Shahrukh used to ask, should I do it this way? Should I do the same? It was the result of the feeling of mutual trust that everyone gave their 100 percent in the making of Jawan and we could make this film. Apart from Shahrukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi are in important roles in Jawan while Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt. Also in special roles.
