This competition of Dasodih village is considered very special. Actually, the reason for this is that only the team whose captain has married a girl from this village can participate in this tournament. This means that only a youth who marries in this village can get his team’s entry in this tournament.
An event is held to honor the son-in-law
The tournament organized in Dasodih has many purposes. The first and most important of these is to give such respect to the son-in-law, which is not given anywhere around. Its purpose is also to bring the girls of the village together. Due to which he gets to meet everyone in the village. Giving information about Jamai football competition, village head Diku Besra said that the youth here have started this tradition. In which all the villagers actively participate. This competition is a matter of pride for our village.
Inspired by Odisha village
On the other hand, the organizer of this tournament, Thakur Soren told that we have started this tradition after being inspired by a similar football competition organized in a village in Odisha. Earlier also we used to have football competition here, but from 2022 this competition has turned into Super Jamai Football. Last year, 16 teams participated in this tournament. This year 16 teams have participated. In this tournament, we honor the winner and the runner-up by giving dhoti sarees to Jamai Captain and his wife in addition to the trophy. Fireworks are also done on this occasion.
MLA praised the competition fiercely
MLA Sanjeev Sardar had reached the program as the chief guest. The MLAs were also very impressed after hearing the provision of Super Jamai football competition organized here and praised this event a lot.
