On the third day of the All India Inter University Cricket (Men’s Category) Championship going on at Shree JJT University under the auspices of the All India Universities Association, an interesting match between Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur and Poet Bahinabai Chaudhary North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, extended till the Super Over, where Kanpur University defeated Jalgaon University by 2 runs. In the second match, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Shekhawati University, Sikar defeated Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla by 45 runs. Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur defeated Saurashtra University, Rajkot by 9 wickets.

Giving information, organizing secretary of the championship, Dr. Arun Kumar said that in the Pool B match, Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur won the toss and invited poetess Bahinabai Chaudhary North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon to bat. Batting first, Jalgaon University scored 163 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. In this, Neeraj Joshi contributed 49 runs and Tushar contributed 42 runs. For Kanpur University, Aman Yadav took 3 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs. While chasing the target, Kanpur University lost its first wicket for 32 runs in 4 overs. In the Pool C match, Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur defeated Saurashtra University, Rajkot by 9 wickets. After winning the toss and batting first, Saurashtra University team was all out for 105 runs in 20 overs. On behalf of Rajkot team, Ramdev contributed 25 runs, Shravan contributed 16 runs, while on behalf of Purvanchal University, Vijay Yadav took 2 wickets for 14 runs and Shubh Sharma took 2 wickets for 18 runs. Chasing this target, VBSPU Jaunpur achieved the target by losing one wicket in 12.5 overs and won by 9 wickets. From Jaunpur University, Brijendra scored 59 runs in 35 balls with 2 sixes and 8 fours and Abhishek scored 42 runs.
