Key players of Bangladesh rested for New Zealand ODI series – Dainik Savera Times

Dhaka : Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced its 15-member squad for the first two ODIs against New Zealand at home later this month. In which it has decided to rest its important players. Keeping in mind the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, Bangladesh has rested its important players for the first two ODI matches against New Zealand.
An ICC report says that in the absence of Shakib Al Hasan, Liton Das will take over as the captain of the Bangladesh team. The players who were rested include Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehdi Hasan Miraz and the pace battery of Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmood and Shoriful Islam. Despite these players being rested, the Bangladesh team was left with Tamim Iqbal, Mahmood Ullah, Soumya Sarkar and Nurul Hasan. There will be no dearth of experience with Sohan’s return.
Bangladeshi Tigers have included three uncapped players in the team, including southpaw Zakir Hasan, fast bowler Khalid Ahmed and leg spinner Rishad Hussain. All three players can be fielded for debut during the ODI series. Naeem Sheikh, Afif Hussain and Shamim Hussain were the unlucky players of the Asia Cup team.
