Malaika Arora parted ways with Arbaaz Khan in 2017 after 19 years of marriage in 1998. The decision was of both, so there was not much confusion. Everything settled peacefully. Now in India Today Conclave 2023, Malaika was asked that the credit for her success is being given to the Khan family. There is so much truth in this. In response to this, she said- It has helped a lot in my life but I don’t think I could live with the fact that I have a famous surname behind me. I don’t think that was all that I wanted to do in my life. It opened a lot of doors for me but I think in the end I will have to work without my Khan surname. And I had to work hard and prove myself everyday to survive in this industry. I was working both when I had that surname and when I came home without it.

Malaika Arora said- I had many people who told me that I am making the biggest mistake of leaving Khan surname. Many people were telling me that you do not know the importance of a surname. I have a lot of respect for my ex-in-laws and ex-family, they have showered me with lots of love. I have a kid, and I’m part of the family, but for me, I needed to stand on my own feet… and it’s not just about the surname. For me, dropping my surname and coming back to my maiden name made me realize that I can do anything in life.

Malaika also talked about her relationship with Arjun. Said that the actor has filled his life with love. He has brought a lot of happiness. Even though there is an age difference between them, both of them enjoy being together. The actress said that if you are not happy despite being in a relationship then it is of no use. Apart from this, when she was asked about marrying the actor, she said that she is currently enjoying the relationship phase. She can’t say anything about marriage right now. They are currently on the pre-honeymoon period.
