Pakistan’s Defense and Foreign Minister will come to India?  Neighboring countries can participate in SCO NSA meet


On March 29, India will host meetings of National Security Advisors (NSAs) and top national security officials of the SCO in New Delhi.

Pakistan has decided to participate in the upcoming National Security Advisor meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which is being hosted by India. News agency ANI quoted sources as saying that the mode of participation has not been finalized yet. On March 29, India will host meetings of National Security Advisors (NSAs) and top national security officials of the SCO in New Delhi. The SCO consists of eight member states China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, along with several other invited or dialogue countries.

Earlier, Pakistan had also participated in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of Tourism Administration meeting held in ‘Kashi’ (Varanasi). Union Minister for Tourism, Culture and Development of North Eastern Region G Kishan Reddy chaired the SCO meeting. The action plan for ‘Tourism Development Year 2023 in the SCO Space’ was also adopted in the meeting. Earlier The Tribune reported that Pakistan has started in-house consultations on India’s participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meetings of defense and foreign ministers as New Delhi has already invited Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto has been invited.

Defense ministers’ meeting is scheduled in April in New Delhi while foreign ministers’ meeting will be held in Goa in May. India is the current chair of the eight-nation SCO, hosting a series of events. The Tribune reported that except for one incident where Pakistan was denied entry over a map dispute, Islamabad has participated in all other events, including the chief justices’ conference and the energy ministers’ meeting, via video link.
