Para medical students broke the lock of MBBS hostel and captured it

Senior Correspondent, Dhanbad,

Angered by not getting a hostel, para medical students on Wednesday broke the lock of the hostel of MBBS girl students located on the campus of Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Medical College and Hospital (SNMMCH) and took possession of it. Seeing the anger of the paramedical students, the security personnel deployed there also ran away. On Wednesday afternoon, many Para Medical students came to MBCS hostel with their luggage and whoever got the room, kept their luggage there. This information was given to the Principal of the Medical College, Dr. Jyoti Ranjan Prasad. The principal sent some teachers to talk to the paramedical students, but the students did not agree. Angry para medical students started creating ruckus in the hostel premises. However, late in the evening, after pressure from the hospital management, the paramedical students vacated the hostel.

Para medical students are angry over not getting hostel:

Let us tell you that a hostel for Para Medical students is ready in the Super Specialty Building campus of SNMMCH. Still, hostels are not being allotted to the students. In this regard, the paramedical students drew the attention of the senior officials of the medical college to the health department officials of Ranchi. Also protested several times. Still the students did not achieve anything.

Students’ allegations:

Para medical students told that they do not get a house on rent in the area around Saraidhela. Most people do not want to give their house on rent to students. In such a situation, students living in far-flung areas have to face a lot of problems. Students of areas like Rajganj, Topchanchi, Giridih, Deoghar etc. are forced to commute daily to complete their studies. The students alleged that due to lack of hostels, many students living in remote areas had to leave their studies midway.

The hospital management said:

After completing the takeover process of Para Medical Hostel from the agency, rooms will be allotted to the students soon. Principal of the Medical College, Dr. Jyoti Ranjan Prasad said that the process of taking handover of the hostel from the agency that constructed it has been completed. Guidelines related to Para Medical Hostel are being procured from RIMS. After completing the entire process soon, students will be allotted hostel rooms. Meanwhile, if any student acts arbitrarily and breaks the rules, action will be taken against him.
