Pathan, directed by Siddharth Anand, gave the biggest opening weekend in the history of Hindi cinema. Its worldwide collection of four days is Rs 420 crore. The film created a new history by achieving the business of 316 crores globally at the box office in three days of release. The film has also crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in India. No wonder, the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer epic is a blockbuster. Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the theaters after a gap of four years is getting a good response not only in India but across the globe. Siddharth Anand’s reaction has now come on this.

It feels incredible to deliver the biggest 3-day collection in the history of Hindi cinema, Siddharth Anand said in a statement. For someone who is passionately committed to their craft, it is just a phenomenal result that will motivate me to keep going.
He added, “My personal ambition has been to make great films that entertain people and provide the best community viewing experience. I have tried to do this through most of my films. With War and now Pathan, I feel the same. I and my team are even more confident to take it forward, to try and make great films that make India proud on the global platform.

On Day 4, 28 January, Pathan crossed the Rs 400 crore mark at the global box office. As of Friday, 27 January, Pathan had earned Rs 166 crore in India and Rs 316 crore worldwide. As per early estimates, the film is expected to earn over $6 million (Rs 49 crore) overseas, which means its worldwide total is above Rs 420 crore. Meanwhile, on the fourth day, Pathan managed to cross the coveted Rs 200 crore mark in India. Its one day collection on January 28 was around Rs 52 crore.

The overall jump in occupancy on Saturday was around 35 per cent. It is expected to increase further on Sunday, January 29. This is the third time since the release of Pathan that the film has earned more than Rs 50 crore in a single day. On Sunday, Pathan is expected to surpass the collections of Chennai Express as the highest grosser of the Shah Rukh Khan film.
