5000 people ran together at Birsa Munda Stadium in Ranchi

Jharkhand News: More than 5000 runners ran in the Coal India Marathon. Runners from all over the country participated in 42 km full, 21 km half marathon, 10 and 05 km races. Arjun Tuddu of Jamshedpur and Sonika of Rohtak Haryana topped the women’s category in the men’s category of full marathon. Both got a prize of three lakh rupees each. Coal India gave a total of Rs 29 lakh as award. Sports Secretary Manoj Kumar also participated in the half marathon. CCL had organized the Coal India Marathon. The special thing is that more than 250 soldiers of the Stryker Brigade of the Indian Army also participated.

Race started at 5:30 am

The marathon started from Birsa Munda Football Stadium, Morabadi. The full marathon was flagged off at 5:30 am. The passion was such that hundreds of runners had reached Morhabadi at midnight itself. The runners involved in the full marathon reached Pithoria from Morhabadi via Kanke Road and then came back to Morhabadi. Whereas, the runners involved in the half marathon went up to National Law University, Kanke Road and then reached Morhabadi.

In the race of full marathon (42.195 km), first Arjun Tuddu, second Anil Kumar Singh, third Kuldeep Singh were in the male category. Whereas, in the women’s category first Sonika, second Tamsi Singh and third Nirmaben Bharatji Thakur became the winners.

Women’s category: First Rima Patel, second Neetu Kumari, third Poonam Dinkar Sonun.

Hazaribagh’s two brothers study in sixth class, ran five km

At the same time, the cycle of cyclist Asha Malviya, who went on a nationwide tour with women empowerment, broke down in Jharkhand. As soon as the information was received, on the occasion of the marathon, Coal India President Pramod Agarwal, CMD etc. gave a new cycle to Asha. Asha has cycled more than 10 thousand kilometers in 12 states.
