Tuesday is China’s National Day and on the occasion, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that the Chinese people will make more remarkable achievements and contribute to the great work of peace and development of mankind. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, at a reception held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (New China) Made this comment while addressing.

Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang presided over the welcoming ceremony. Xi said that on the new journey into the new era, the central task of the party and the country is to build China into a strong country and achieve national rejuvenation on all fronts while advancing Chinese modernization. He stressed that the best way to celebrate the anniversary of New China is to continuously advance this unprecedented great cause.

Xi stressed that to advance China’s modernization, it is necessary to take overall leadership and coordinate the efforts of all parties, firmly pursue the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, deepen reform in all areas, and pursue opening-up. It is imperative to always maintain the Party’s leading role in expansion, maintain a people-centered approach, and remain committed to peaceful development. Xi stressed the importance of fully, sincerely and firmly implementing the policy of “one country, two systems”, whereby Hong Kong people administer Hong Kong, and Macau people administer Macau, Both with a high degree of autonomy.

He also called for efforts to ensure and advance long-term prosperity and stability in Hong Kong and Macau. “Taiwan is an integral part of China’s territory,” Xi said. He urged deepening economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation across the Taiwan Strait and firmly opposing separatist activities aimed at “Taiwan independence.” Noting that people of all countries live on the same earth and share a common destiny, Xi called for efforts to promote the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

Xi said that after 75 years of rigorous efforts, Chinese modernization has brought promising prospects, while also cautioning of potential risks and challenges on the road ahead. “We must remain alert to potential threats and be well prepared,” Xi said, urging efforts to overcome uncertainties, unexpected risks and challenges.
