PV Sindhu: PV Sindhu out of top 10 in BWF rankings after losing Swiss Open


New Delhi: After failing to defend the women’s singles title at the Swiss Open last week, two-time Olympic medalist P V Sindhu slipped out of the world top 10 in the latest BWF (World Badminton Federation) rankings released on Tuesday. Sindhu was out for a long time due to injury. She failed to find the rhythm after her comeback. The 27-year-old from Hyderabad has slipped two places to 11th position with 60,448 points. Former world champion Sindhu’s career best ranking is two. She remained in the top 10 since November 2016.

She reached the top 10 for the first time in August 2013. In men’s singles, HS Prannoy remained steady at number eight in the world rankings. Men’s doubles pair of Swiss Open champions Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty consolidated their position at the sixth position in the rankings. The women’s doubles pair of Trisha Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand remained static at 18th position.
