Rescue efforts continue for Hualien earthquake in Taiwan – Dainik Savera Times


According to data from the Taiwan Disaster Response Center, as of 12 noon on April 4, the Hualien earthquake caused 2,498 disasters across Taiwan, with a total of 9 deaths, 1,050 injuries, and 101 people stranded and 34 missing. .

Li Longsheng, acting deputy chief of the Hualien Town Fire Department, said that search and rescue operations on the 4th focused on Thairuoko Park. At present it is understood that the trapped people are safe.

Introducing the next rescue difficulties, Li Longsheng said that currently the search and rescue units are cooperating with the engineering vehicles of the Highway Bureau to remove the rocks that have fallen on the road and advance to the disaster area. Due to severe rockfall and earthquakes on the road, large-scale search and rescue equipment can be used only when it is relatively calm.

Li Longsheng said that all the stranded people who have been contacted so far have taken safe shelter. Search and rescue workers have also started moving into the disaster area.
